North Mountain Dog Ranch provides your dog with 5-star enrichment-led dog daycare and dog boarding. Located near Halls Harbour in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, our 2 acre private property offers a safe, purpose built, home-away-from-home environment for your furry best friend! Your dog will be treated as one of the family, and we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor what we do to best suit your dog's individual needs and unique personality. Having owned and run a successful dog daycare and boarding business in the UK before moving to Nova Scotia, we have extensive experience with all breeds, ages, behaviors and medical conditions. We never judge a dog's character based on breed stereotypes. At North Mountain Dog Ranch, our focus is always on quality, not quantity.

NMDR was set up to meet the needs of dog owners unable to find the high standard of care they expect for their dog. We offer a more reliable and more convenient service than any currently available in the area. Whilst your dog is with us, they will be able to enjoy physical, mental and emotional stimulation, in a safe, secure and supervised facility. Your dog's happiness, health and comfort are always our number one priority!

Our daycare and boarding is available to select areas in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

The NMDR difference

Door-to-daycare transport - The first of its kind in the Valley! Our customized converted vehicle collects your dog from your home in the morning and returns them in the afternoon. This allows you the flexibility to go about your day without worrying about getting to and from The Ranch.

STRICT capacity limits - The maximum number of dogs in our care is 10. This ensures a safe, controlled play environment, where dogs can interact with one another, without it getting out of control or too overwhelming. It also allows us to form meaningful relationships with the dogs in our care, which is the best part!

Full-time in-person supervision - Dogs are never left unattended nor just monitored on camera. They are never let out of site when playing together.

We only use positive reinforcement techniques. No shock collars (also known as e-collars or pet correctors)
